UT Dallas Undergraduate Law Review

Our mission is to foster a collaborative environment where students from all academic disciplines are empowered to master the skills of writing, editing, and legal research, thereby transforming their diverse perspectives into cohesive, compelling arguments and analyses. UTDULR is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and strives to produce high-quality content that enriches the discourse on critical legal and policy issues.

Our Leadership

Sudipta Rout - President

Sudipta is a junior majoring in International Political Economy at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a National Merit Scholar with a strong foundation in economic and legal research and a vested interest in the philosophy of law, the interaction of economics and law, and international civil liberties. He has diverse and formative experiences at Morgan Stanley, the Stanford Freeman Spogli Institute, and individual legal philosophy research which have contributed to his interest in interdisciplinary approaches to the law. Sudipta envisions the Undergraduate Law Review as a means for students to critically and dialectically engage with the law in order to add diverse and previously unrecognized undergraduate voices into the realm of legal discourse. He will oversee the Law Review's structure, curriculum, editorial standards and overall direction, ensuring that the Law Review serves not only as a platform for publication but also as a training ground for rigorous legal writing, critical thought, and civic discourse.

Zara Jamshed - Vice President

Zara is a junior majoring in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in JSOM with a minor in political science at the University of Texas at Dallas. She is on the pre-law track with a diverse array of interests in international, environmental, and technology law and policy. Outside of ULR, she's present in UTD's student government and has a previous background as captain and an attorney on the national circuit for UTD's mock trial team. She joined ULR because she was passionate about the potential of students to voice their legal perspectives through written articles and the impact of those articles on improving legal institutions. She is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the administrative functions and internal operations of the editorial board to ensure high-quality and informative publications.
